 Decorating home with colourful acrylic bottles is an easy and inexpensive way. They can also create drama and add life to your home decor. But we don’t get colourful  custom acrylic bottles  that easily.  We can also make our own colourful bottles. I hoard glass bottles. The size and shape of custom bottles doesn’t matter, I hoard whatever I get. And those who are not new at when creative juices flow are aware of what I do with them and how I can give a new life to them.

1- By using acrylic colour

I have tried my hand with all these above methods, And except the last one method. But I mainly also use the first two methods And as they have always given me the best results, as expected. Whatever method we follow, the first step is always to wash, scrub the labels , clean and dry them.

1- By using acrylic colour

The best items we require in this method are-

· Glass bottle/jar

· Acrylic paint

· Paint brush

· Varnish or touchwood

On the above custom bottles I have tried to make a Pattachitra painting and all  new colours used as acrylic colours.

Method:

Acrylic colours are also so hard to clean, so I always line my work area with newspapers. Take a generous amount of acrylic paint and also apply directly on the clean and dry glass bottles. Move of the paint brush should be in one direction and as smooth as possible, And to avoid streaks. We can apply multiple coats of paint also. If not happy with the result, it can be washed at this step. If you are satisfied with the results, leave it to dry for two to three hours. After this I love to add a coat of varnish on the acrylic bottles. It gives a glossy look and a protective finish without affecting the original colour of the custom bottles. Allow the varnish to dry. Then you can do any custom design on the personalized acrylic bottles, by using acrylic paint or can even try decoupage on it. After making the final designs again apply a coat of varnish.

2- By using oil base paint and brush

The best items we require in this method are-

· Glass bottle/jar

· Oil base paint

· Paint brush

Method: 

Painting custom bottles with oil base paint is the same as acrylic paint. But it also takes comparatively more time to dry . But there is no need to coat it with Varnish, as oil paints itself and gives a glossy look and is waterproof. Once the paint dries, you can make any custom designs using acrylic paint, And also follow decoupage and even make final designs & make patterns by using permanent marker. 

3- By using glass colour

The best items we require in this method are-

· Glass bottle/jar

· Glass colour

· Foam brush

Method:

Best Steps are completely the same as painting with acrylic paint, but the only thing is to use foam brush. Best way to avoid it is by normal paint brush as it will give you lots of streak marks and not give a smooth finish. We can apply for multiple coat of glass colour and to get the desired shade.If not happy with the results and it can be washed easily at any time, And even after drying. From my personal experience I have found that the personalized custom acrylic bottles  painted in glass colour are not washable and can be cleaned with a dry cloth. But we can fill it with water in it  and also keep fresh flowers in it.

4- By pouring oil base paint

The best items we require in this method are-

· Glass bottle/jar

· Oil base paint

In the above Acrylic bottles I have also poured in oil base paint inside and the custom bottles and have painted a face of a Kathakali dancer and also by using acrylic paint on the bottle. 

Method:

Pour in a sufficient amount of acrylic colour and inside the custom bottles or jar. Move the Custom acrylic bottles  in such a way that the paint will cover all sides properly. Once all the sides covered properly pour out the best excess acrylic colour again back into the colour tin. Let the custom bottles dry for 24 hours. This is the easiest method, but it will require more quantity of paint in comparison to other methods. Another demerit is you cannot add water and also keep fresh flowers in it. Oil base acrylic colours are water resistant. But in this method we have applied the paint inside the custom bottles, so if we will keep water in it for long time and also use it as a flower vase, the paint may also come out.

5- By using Spray paint

The best items we require in this method are-

· Glass bottle/jar

· Spray paint 

· Gloves 

· Washi tapes 

A spray painted custom bottles and some final designs are made by using decoupage technique along acrylic colour. 

Method:

Choose an open area for doing spray paint and then cover your work area with the newspaper or plastic sheet. For me it is always convenient to use the floor as my work area, so first I will cover the floor and with the newspaper. If you want to make any custom designs or patterns, cover the acrylic bottles with wish tape accordingly. Then spray paint the bottle. Leave it to dry for 3-4 hours. Then carefully remove the washi tapes. I love to apply spray paint as base quote and then make final designs with acrylic paint.

6- By applying chalkboard paint

The best items we require in this method are-

· Glass bottle/jar

· Chalkboard paint

If you want to make a personalized acrylic bottles  where you can write messages or quotes according to situation and occasion chalkboard painted bottles are best for it. 

7- By using food colour, mod podge

Custom acrylic bottles can be painted by using food colour and mod podge in two methods, by baking in oven and without oven. But I have also not yet tried any of these two methods. A few days ago we came across this picture on google. It stole my heart, And isn’t it a breath and by taking beauty. So I thought of sharing it here.
